Dear Fellow Members,

With the new committee taking charge, we step into a fresh chapter in the life of our beloved Calcutta Club. Every new committee brings with it the promise of continuity and change — the continuity of a legacy that is more than a century old, and transformation that ushers in new ideas, new responsibilities, and renewed energy.

This year, however, has been touched by something truly historic. By placing your faith in me, you — the members — have created history. For the very first time, our Club has a Lady as its President. This is not my achievement alone, but a collective milestone for the entire institution — a reflection of your trust and your progressive spirit. Together, we carry the honour and the responsibility of this moment forward.

The past months have already shown us how deeply the Club binds us together. Our Independence Day celebrations filled the club premises with pride and joy. From the solemn hoisting of the Tricolour, to the stirring performances that reminded us of our nation’s journey, to the laughter of children running about in white and saffron — it was an occasion that touched every heart.

Our Hilsa Lunch was another highlight, bringing us around the table to share Bengal’s favourite monsoon delicacy. Truly, the essence of the Club lies not just in its grand events, but also in these warm, intimate gatherings that keep us connected.

My earnest wish is that, in the days to come, we continue to hold each other in the same spirit of affection, respect, and fraternity that has made Calcutta Club what it is. With your support, may we write this new chapter with joy, dignity, and pride.
